Edo Gov set to boost business opportunities in the state.
The Edo state government has reaffirmed its readiness to keep promoting Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state by putting them into the cluster sector that will industrialize the state.
The Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Cooperatives, Hon. Afishetu Braimoh, announced this while inaugurating a nine-man industrial policy committee in Benin City.
Hon. Braimoh said the Edo state government is set to open its industrial enterprise park and there is a need to move MSMEs to the next level. In charging the committee, Hon. Braimoh tasked the committee to identify the different MSMEs sectors while focusing on MSMEs clustering.
The committee is coordinated by Ms. Yuwa Naps (PS MITC), Mr. Festus E. Okougbo, chairman, and Ms. Ajimoti Blessing Oluwatosin, GIZ Representative. Other members of the committee are Mr. Alaba Okun, Mr. Joseph Igiekhume, Mr. Joseph Inegbedion, Mrs. Enobakhare Philo, Mr. Reuben Akogbe, and Mr. Ken Ogedegbe.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives, Ms Yuwa Naps, commended the Hon Commissioner, for her laudable choice of committee members and confidence that the committee would deliver on their task.
Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Mr. Festus Okougbo appreciated the Hon. Commissioner for the opportunity to serve and promised to develop a world-class industrial policy.
