A 25-year-old female Immigration officer, Bose, who was said to have closed from work, has become the latest victim of the Popular “One Chance” Two-Man kidnapping syndicate that abducted her while returning home.

The operators were said to have driven in a Toyota Camry with registration number BEN- 658- BP ash color, belonging to one Monday, a residence in Benin City.

The two suspects, identified as Roland Osagie, 29-year-old, and Kelvin Ofure 29-year-old, disguised as commercial vehicle operators when they abducted her while returning home.

The incident, according to the Edo State Police Image maker, Superintendent of Police, SP, Kontongs Bello happened at about 4 pm on January 26, 2022.

Bello who spoke to our correspondent said luck ran against the suspected criminals when they were intercepted by a team of police operatives who were conducting stop and search operations when they found a woman lying unconsciously at the back seat of the vehicle.

The development, according to kontongs Bello, led to a discrete interrogation by the police operatives who were on duty.

He explained that the suspected criminals pretended to be a commercial operators plying that route when the victim joined them as a passenger.

Narrating the ordeal, the police image maker, posited that, the victim became unconscious shortly after entering the fake taxi as she only regained her consciousness when the vehicle was stopped.

The abductors who disguised as Diamond business dealers first presented it to her after hypnotizing the victim who later fell asleep.

A stone in the guise of diamond was rapped with a shining Fuel paper and sampled to the victim with the criminal intention of defrauding unsuspected members of the public.

According to SP Bello, “I have here, a case of conspiracy to kidnap. The incident is commonly described with a popular name, One Chance Operators. A 25-year-old immigration officer, Bose, who closed from work and joined a vehicle unknowingly her they were criminals who specialize in kidnapping people”.

“She was later abducted when she was going home by her conspirators, Roland Osagie a male of 29 years, and Kelvin Ofure, 29-year-old claimed to be a taxi operator”.

“She was seen lying unconsciously inside the vehicle when a team of police operatives intercepted their vehicle. The suspects specialize in hoodwinking unsuspected members of the public”.

The conspirators, however, admitted to having carried out the heinous operation when police apprehended them.

When asked how many people they have abducted and what pushed them to embark on such criminal adventure, Kelvin Ofure who was captured weeping profusely on camera, said he wanted to have some money.

In another development, a 17- year-old young lady, Chukwuemeka Chidiadi was said to have embarked on a self kidnapping activities when she arranged with his alleged boyfriend, Emmanuel Christopher, who hails from Etsako West Local Government Area to defraud his elder brother who is her caregiver.

The police disclosed that the brother Kingsley Chukwuemeka had given Chidiadi a thousand Naira to buy fuel at Raptore filling station along mission road close to his residence, to power his domestic generator but unknowingly to him, there was a grand plan between her and the boyfriend to carry out a conspiracy of self kidnapping.

He said, Kingsley, his elder brother, became worried after hours when he waited for her sister who never returned that day.

After two days, he was still nowhere to be found when he went and lodged a complaint at the New Benin police divisional headquarters who later went searching for the whereabouts of both lovebirds.

Emmanuel Christopher, the embattled boyfriend, on noticing there was a search for his girlfriend, Chidiadi, became apprehensive and eventually told Kingsley who had put a call to his sister’s phone requesting for 500,000.00 ransom or the family may not be able to see their sister again, if they refused to pay the ransom.

Before long, the police’s long arm caught up with the Cinderella who planned to woo his prince charming at the expense of his caregiver’s brother, Kingsley Chukwuemeka.

The estranged lover, Emmanuel Christopher a professional layer of tiles and a Doorkeeper, who is now a suspected kidnapper, confessed to planning Chidiadi’s Kidnapping and demanding a ransom of 500,000.00, from Kingsley Chukwuemeka, to sustain the relationship.

The suspects are to face various charges on completion of investigation, according to SP Kontongs Bello.

The State Commissioner of Police Philip Ogbadu, who pledged his willingness to sustain the tempo in sweeping criminals away from the state, admonished members of the public to furnish the police with useful information at all times.
