The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday, hacked Africa Nation’s Cup Tournament’s favorite, the Pharos of Egypt by one goal to nil.

Leicester City’s Striker, Kelechi Iheanacho put the Eagles ahead of their opponent, thirty minutes into the run of Play that proved a decider.

The Super Eagles overpowered lackluster Egypt in a clash of Group D big guns played in the northwestern city of Garoua capacity filled the stadium.

Frustrated Egyptians Captain, Mohammed Salah, cut an isolated figure at the Stade Roumde Adjia and when he did get a scoring chance in the second half, his attempt was saved by the boot of goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

The Star boy of the game, Kelechi Iheanacho, overshadowed fellow Premier League stars, Mohamed Salah and Riyad Mahrez, following Nigeria’s winning start to their Africa Cup of Nations campaign, whilst, title-holders Algeria was held in another game of the day played.

Iheanacho’s match-winner and overall performance earned him the man-of-the-match award on a day when prolific Liverpool scorer Salah and Manchester City winger Mahrez failed to sparkle.

In another Group D match played in the evening, Guinea-Bissau still without a win in three Cups of Nations appearances, were held to a goalless draw as Judilson ‘Pele’ Gomes missed a penalty against the Sudanese team, leaving the Super Eagles on top of the summit
