The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Ewuare II, says he is worried, about the surging insecurity situations across the country and willing to organize a Security-Economic Summit to address the issues head-on.

He believes that the development has grossly reflected in the economic progression and now having damaging effects on society.

The proposed Security-Economic Summit, according to Oba Ewuare II, would provide open doors to financial opportunities as well as consolidate the security system of the

Omo N’Oba N’Edo who disclosed his plans when he played host to Heads of Security Agencies, at his Palace in Benin City, Edo State Capital, emphasized that the security and economic issues confronting the State would be placed in the spotlight during the Summit, to fortify the security and increase the revenue sources of the Kingdom and State in general.

The highly revered Benin Monarch
further expressed optimism that the joint efforts by the various security agencies in the State alongside the traditional institutions would help stern measures to restrict vehicles of insecurity deadlocks adding that the Benin throne is eager at guaranteeing the overall progress of the State, hence the need to consolidate the security and economic systems in the State.

On their part, the Commissioner of Police Abutu Yaro and the Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration
Dominic Obetta Asogwa spoke in one voice, noting that they were at the Monarch’s Palace to seek Royal blessings and prayers upon assumption of duties ahead of their huge tasks of combating crimes in the State.

The Security Chiefs assured the Oba of partnering with the Palace in the proposed Summit, expressing the hopes that it would guarantee productive policing.
