Tragedy struck when a man simply identified as Abdulateef was allegedly stabbed to death by one of his wives who was caught in sexual intercourse with another man on their matrimonial bed.
The incident, was said to have occurred at early hours of Sunday at Jattu, Etsako West Local Government Area, in Edo State.
According to multiple sources, the woman reportedly stabbed the now deceased husband to death when he came home at about 3am and met a strange man sleeping with his junior wife in their bedroom.
The source said, Abdulateef now deceased, was married to two wives who used to live with him at different locations, as he occasionally visits his Senior wife at another apartment he rented for her.
However, the junior wife was said to have taken advantage by inviting his lover to her matrimonial home anytime the husband spends the night in the first wife’s apartment.
The source said the deceased came home on the fateful night from his first wife’s apartment only to meet a man with his junior wife in their bedroom.
According to the report, the deceased allegedly got hold of the visitor and in the process, the woman stabbed him twice on his stomach apparently to pave the way for the lover’s escape and make it look like a robbery attack.
It was reported that, the deceased died as a result of the injury before help could come, adding that, the quick response from the police operatives, saved the suspect from being lynched by a mob, while the suspect has been apprehended by the police.
Edo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Kontongs Bello, is yet to release a statement confirming the incident as several calls to his mobile lines were unanswered as at the time of this report.
