Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured residents that the ongoing construction of the Ramat Park flyover in Benin City will restore full operations at the Appeal Court and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, office.

The governor gave the assurance while inspecting the progress of work at the project site, where he noted that the perennial flooding had disrupted critical institutions and businesses around Ramat Park.

Recall that both offices have been affected by persistent flooding in the area.

Speaking with journalists during the inspection, Okpebholo said the completion of the flyover and its accompanying drainage infrastructure would permanently address the environmental challenges that forced the Appeal Court and INEC to scale down activities.

He emphasised that his administration is determined to ensure the institutions return to full functionality once the project is completed.

The governor disclosed that construction of the flyover bridge has reached about 90 percent completion, while drainage works stand at approximately 70 percent.

He expressed optimism that the entire project would be delivered before the peak of the rainy season to prevent further disruption.

Okpebholo reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, stressing that the project is critical to easing traffic congestion and safeguarding economic activities in the area.
