The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has assured the Commander of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, of the palace’s support for military operations in the kingdom.
In a statement released and made known to newsmen in Benin City on Friday, by Captain KENNEDY ANYANWU, Assistant Director Army Public Relations 4 Brigade Nigerian Army disclosed that the Oba of Benin assured Brigadier General Balogun of palace support during a courtesy visit on March 4, 2026.
While praising the Nigerian Army’s efforts in safeguarding Edo State citizens and praying for their continued safety, the Benin Monarch suggested using Benin language codenames for their operations.
Brigadier General Balogun who visited the Oba to officially introduce himself and seek royal blessings, cited the palace’s support as crucial in maintaining peace and security in Edo State.
The Brigade, however, reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance against insecurity.
The Oba offered a special prayer and blessing for the Brigade Commander’s continued service.
