The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Edo State Chapter, has praised Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, for Team Edo’s outstanding performance at the Niger Delta Games.
The team emerged overall champion, ending a 24-year wait for regional supremacy.
SWAN, while highlighting Key areas said the historic achievement has placed the state in good light, hailing the impact of the sport commission.
The association further praised his commitment, foresight, and determination, stating that his leadership has revived the morale of athletes and repositioned Edo State as a formidable force in Nigeria’s sporting landscape.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of SWAN Edo State Chapter, Comrade Kehinde Osagiede, and the Secretary, Comrade Idahosa Moses, the association described the victory as a major milestone for Edo sports and a reflection of Enabulele’s visionary leadership.
According to the statement, the triumph underscores the impact of strategic planning and the renewed commitment to sports development since Enabulele assumed office as head of the state’s sports commission.
SWAN described Enabulele as a “jinx breaker” who has restored pride and prestige to Edo State.
Responding, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, through his media aide, Wilson Edoko expressed gratitude to the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Edo State Chapter, for recognizing Team Edo’s achievements.
He credited and dedicated the historic victory to the dedication of Governor Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, athletes, coaches, and officials working together to restore Edo State’s pride in sports.
Enabulele also acknowledged the critical role of sports journalists in promoting sporting activities and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.
