Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress ADC, joined by former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and other party leaders, led a peaceful protest in Abuja on Wednesday.

The demonstration, aimed at highlighting perceived partisanship within Nigeria’s electoral body, saw supporters from various parts of the country gather at the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC office.

Atiku took to X to explain the protest, stating it was aimed at safeguarding democracy and preventing dictatorship.

Protesters wore “Operation Save Our Democracy” T-shirts and carried placards with messages, chanting “We no go gree” and “INEC Chairman Amupitan must go”.

Prominent figures like Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and David Mark were also seen participating in the protest, which marks the latest in a series of actions by the ADC to address perceived irregularities in INEC’s conduct.

In a video cited, protesters and supporters of Aisha Yesufu, Mama Pee, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and several other activists were seen participating in the protest.
