Chairman, Taskforce on Internally Generated Revenue, Edo State Internal Revenue Service, EIRS, Hon. John Osagie Inegbedion, says Edo State’s Revenue collection has hit the four billion Naira monthly benchmark set by the State Government.

He also acknowledged that the four billion Naira target was achieved in the last quarter of 2022 after meeting the earlier three billion naira target in the first quarter of the same year.

He gave the revelation at the January 2023 Management Performance Review, MPR, Meeting, and Award Ceremony held at the EIRS Corporate Head Office to review the Service’s performance in revenue generated in the preceding month and year 2022 as well as appreciate EIRS’s branches and ministries that exceeded the targeted mandate during the weekend.

Hon. Inegbedion attributed the achievement of the N4 billion naira feat to the leadership and support provided by Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu.

The Revenue gaffer, however, urged staffers to continue to do more by doubling their efforts to support the MEGA Agenda of the State Government through the prompt discharge of their duties.

Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo on Friday, November 12, 2022, during the sixth edition of the yearly Alaghodaro Investment Summit in Benin with the theme of the event Edo’s Transformation: Partnerships, Resilience, Impact, set an Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, the target of N60 billion for the 2023 fiscal year in the state.
