The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Edo State Command, says it has intercepted a trailer load of over Four hundred and Forty kilograms of assorted drugs at Ewu, Esan Central Local Government, Area of the State.

The harmful drugs seized and described as Psychotropic Substances, include Tramadol Capsules of 83.707kg, Extols 5, tablets weighing 203.315kg, Diazepam tablets of 2.05kg, Bromazepam Tablets 0.45kg, Codeine Based Syrup, of 134.865kg, and Pentazocine Injection weighing 16.64kg respectively.

The State Commander, Buba Wakawa, who disclosed this at the state command in Benin City, said the long truck had left Onitsha heading for Kebbi State when his men took a swipe at the truck.

Wakawa said three suspects identified as Bashir Lawali, Abubakar, and Ali Abubakar, were arrested during the raid.

The NDLEA Boss described the raid as the biggest seizure of its operations in the state.

He urged more collaborative efforts to win the fight against drug bandits and cabals waging war against the Agency’s operations.

The culprits who made useful confessions denied knowledge of the substance they carried in their trucks when responding to the allegations.

The Suspects are likely to face possible Court charges at the end of the investigations carried out by the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, according to its Commander, Buba Waka.
