An interest group in Etsako Central Local Government Area, Edo State, the Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, is in unison at condemning the abduction of the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Ibrahim Aliyu Ishaq by unknown gunmen who are now said to be demanding N50 million Naira as ransom.

The condemnation which was contained in a statement signed by Solomon Obomighie, National PRO of FPU, was made available to newsmen in Benin on Sunday.

It would be recalled that, the abduction of the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Fugar Police Division in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo state, Ibrahim Aliyu Ishaq, was reportedly, carried out along the old Auchi- Ekperi- Agenebode road in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, while on his way to duty post in Fugar.

His abduction, was later Confirmed in a statement released on Sunday by the State Police Command image maker, SP Kontongs Bello.

Despite the treacherous incident of the DPOs abduction, SP Bello says the police are on top of the situation.

The abduction which is one out of numerous incidences not just in Edo state, but cut across the country, is a pointer to several calls by spirited Nigerians for an Improved security architecture in various communities.
