BENSON OBODEH: Brother Of Late Police Victim Cries For Help Over Plans To Eliminate Him.
A few years after the Nigerian Police Operatives murdered the deceased Benson Obodeh who was accused of car theft, His Younger brother, Obodeh Paul Eijomonuza has cried out over plans to eliminate him by some police Operatives working underground for the suspended DCP Abba kyari to cover the real reason for killing his elder brother.
Paul Obodeh who spoke to our correspondent from his hide out explained that he was targeted because the deceased Benson was his business partner whom the police thought left some money in his possession when he was arrested and brutally murdered.
He hinted that Abba kyari the head of the operation who was instrumental to the killer’s Police Operatives also promised to hunt him, Paul Obodeh, for his affiliation with his brother.
He said” Abba kyari made two promises that his boys that were arrested will never serve jail terms or go for it”, adding that he Promised to kill him because he testified against him and the operatives in Court, when they were arrested and brought to book.
Abba Kyari, the suspended deputy commissioner of police (DCP), was released 27 months after he was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.
It was reported that Adamu Duza, spokesperson of the FCT command of the Nigerian Correctional Service NCoS, said Kyari was released from the Kuje Custodial Centre on Friday.
Kyari was arrested on February 14, 2022, after the NDLEA declared him wanting over alleged links with an international drug cartel.
On March 7, 2022, Kyari was arraigned alongside Sunday Ubia, Bawa James, Simon Agirigba, and John Nuhu, who were members of the police intelligence response team IRT.
He explained that the police who hunted his brother for a crime he knows nothing about, collected his ATM debit card and his pin code where they later withdrew his money after subjecting him to untimely death.
The now disbanded SARS officer, including the dismissed Constable, Joseph Omotosho, alongside, Corporals, Adeleke Adedeji, Abena John, Oniyo Musa, Henry Shobowole, were found guilty after undergoing a court trial on eight-count charge bordering on Conspiracy to Steal and murder over alleged car theft incident that happened in 2015.
They were alleged of arresting Benson Obodeh, forcefully collected his ATM and pin, withdrew a total of N330,000 from the account, killed him and dumped his body in the mortuary sometime on May 21, 2015.
As of the time of his death, Benson was a student and a car dealer, but was wrongly accused of stealing a car in Lagos by the police operatives
He was picked up from his house on May 21, 2015 by officers of SARS wing of the Ikeja Police Headquarters with four operatives leading the team into Benin City, Edo State, from Ikeja, Lagos, on the suspicion that they tracked a phone to a mechanic whose name was Evans and who happened to be Benson’s mechanic that helped him repair cars.
Benson was accused of stealing a particular car, a Peugeot 306, which someone, identified as Favour, brought from Italy to Nigeria.
However, Paul Obodeh who is now appealing to the government and relevant authority from his hide out, wants his safety secured
