Prince Kassim Afegbua, the former Commissioner of Information in Edo State believes that there is a wide gap in the cohesion that should naturally promote and reassure citizens of the sense of belonging in governance across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Given these circumstances, growth and development according to him, have been impeded limiting many to wallow in abject poverty.
At a declaration on Thursday, in Benin City, where he officially stated his intention to contest the 2024 Governorship election under the All Progressive Congress Party, APC Afegbua said the era of lamentation would have become a thing of the past.
He said his interest was born out of the failure of the present leadership in the state to harness the resources and sense of industry
Afegbua maintained that he is willing to reposition the state in sync with the National reckoning just as he pledged to explore opportunities beckoning on citizens of Edo State.
He urged the people to trust in his ability to redefine the essence of good governance for the benefit of the people.
According to him, Edo State deserves more than just a passing interest and must be rescued from the ashes of the present misgovernance.
Prince Afegbua is among the v aspirants vying to occupy the Governorship seat at Denise Osadebe Avenue, the Home to the Edo State Government.
