The Edo State House of Assembly has emphasized the need to assert its oversight role over contracts awarded by ministries, agencies, and departments in the state.
Speaking at plenary, on Monday, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku stated that his leadership will write the governor for sanctioning of any defaulting contractors following slow paste of works across some projects awarded.
The House also announced the defection of Hon. Uyi Frank, member representing Oredo East, from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the ruling All Progressive Congress APC, raising APC membership in the House to 21 out of 24.
