This feat was announced by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun, during a visit to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin.
Hon. Bankole-Balogun attributed the success to the leadership of Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, who has charged the new EIRS Board with generating IGR to support the state’s developmental needs.
Earlier in the penultimate week, Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun also led the EIRS Board to the Office of the Director, Department of State Security Service, where he sought collaboration to ensure seamless Revenue Service operations in the state.
This strategic move aims to foster a secure and enabling environment for the EIRS to achieve its mandate, particularly in driving revenue growth and promoting transparency.
By leveraging the support of the Security operatives, Hon. Bankole-Balogun can enhance its operational efficiency in ensuring compliance with tax law and by extension serve the people of Edo State.
In response, CP Otimenyin appreciated the role of the Revenue Service in the state’s development and pledged her command’s support for sustainable IGR collection. This collaboration is expected to benefit all citizens.
Notably, the EIRS has set a target of N10 billion monthly IGR for 2025, indicating a steady growth rate, where this goal is part of the state government’s efforts to boost its internal revenue generation.
