Okpebholo’s Win: Akpabio Cites Divine Providenc

Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Nigerian Senate and former Akwa Ibom Governor, says Governor Monday Okpebholo’s electoral victory was “divinely ordained” to transform Edo State.
Senator Akpabio who received Governor Okpebholo at his Uyo residence attributed the win to God’s providence, praising his
leadership and vision in the last one month in office.
Akpabio’s Statement noted: “Every leadership comes from God.He chose you to rewrite Edo’s history.”
Akpabio also lauded APC’s growth in the South-South where he
predicted more victories for the party in the region.
A statement released and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Benin City by the Chief Press Secretary Fred Itua, thanked Edo people for choosing the APC in the September 2024 Governorship election, adding that it has now aligned the State with the Government at the centre which he said portends many positives and made the zone now stronger as a negotiating voice at the federal level.
The statement further disclosed that, under the APC administration, many of its members decided there was a need for them to change the political basket to enable them represent their people at the national level by extension have a say in the decision making in the country.
Earlier, Governor Monday Okpebholo emphasized his visit’s purpose where he said he was in town to leverage Senator Akpabio’s vast expertise and experience, drawn from his transformative tenure as Akwa Ibom Governor, adding, “he has been graciously advised.
