In a shocking turn of events, a popular Radio host of the Area Parliament at Silverbird Rhythm 93.7 fm Benin, Andrew Edeki professionally known as Kpogidi has gone underground after exposing the alleged involvement of notable political thugs in Senator Monday Okpebholo’s police orderly killings.

Senator Okpebholo, the All Progressive Congress, APC, Candidate was said to have been returning from a political campaign trip when his supporters engaged in a fierce gun duel with the loyalists of the Incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki, at the Benin Airport Gate Exit point, leading to the death of a police orderly attached to him.

The incident occurred sometime in July 2024.

After the gruesome murder of the police Inspector, identified as Onu Akor, the security aide, the Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki threatened that Nigeria would burn if anybody dared to arrest his “boys”.

However, the radio show presenter had been vocal about the several attacks and extrajudicial activities carried out by some influential political personnel in the state, sparking widespread outrage and calls for accountability.

The Threats and several other attacks on his life and family Began over his attempts to speak more on the disaster occasioned by the gruesome murder of the police inspector.

Flowing from their courageous stance, the Area Parliament Presenter was attacked after receiving a series of threatening messages, warning them to retract their statements and cease further investigation into the matter.

Sources close to the presenter of the Area Parliament program, disclosed that, these threats have been relentless, causing growing concern for their safety and well-being.

It was learned that, the series of threats led to the death of his wife, the now late Glory Andrew Edeki.

Since Edeki’s outburst on the radio program, masked men have always attempted to attack him where he has been forced to take refuge in an undisclosed location.

The Area Parliament Presenter has refused to back down, instead demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged police orderly killings and calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.

Their bravery has inspired others to speak out against similar injustices, potentially marking a turning point in the fight for human rights in the region.

As tensions continue to rise, Edeki who spoke from his hideout said the international community and human rights organizations are closely watching the situation.
