The conflict between Israel and Lebanon has taken a devastating toll, with 2,672 deaths and 12,468 injuries reported by the Lebanese Health Ministry since October 8 last year.
The situation escalated further on Saturday with 19 people killed and 108 injured in Israeli attacks across Lebanon.
Israel’s air campaign in Lebanon, which began last month, targets Hezbollah strongholds, marking an escalation in the cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group since Israel’s Gaza offensive.
Despite international warnings of a looming regional war, Israel expanded the conflict by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon on October 1.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that his country does not seek war but will defend its people and respond proportionately to Israeli attacks.
He directed officials to identify and punish those behind a terrorist attack that killed 10 Iranian law enforcement personnel in Taftan, Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province.
