Atiku Slams Tinubu’s Administration, Says Oppression Surpasses Military Dictatorship
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that its level of oppressive control exceeds even the harshest periods of military rule.
Atiku’s remarks follow the arrest and detention of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC President Joe Ajaero and the invasion of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project’s SERAP Abuja office by Department of State Services (DSS) personnel.
Atiku took to his Facebook page to denounce the arrest, saying it highlights the administration’s desire to intimidate and subdue organized labor.
He urged the administration and security agencies to redirect their efforts towards addressing violence and perpetrators.
The former vice president alleged that Tinubu’s administration has surpassed the oppressive measures of military dictatorships.
Ajaero’s arrest, which occurred while he was heading to the UK for official duties, exemplifies the administration’s persistent efforts to suppress organized labor, according to Atiku.
