Ahead of the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial election in Edo State, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, has expressed confidence that Edo people will reject mediocre and incompetent leaders presented by the opposition All Progressives Congress APC.

Addressing a crowd of PDP members and supporters at the party’s official campaign flag-off in Ubiaja, Esan South-East Local Government Area, Ighodalo vowed to enhance the socio-economic well-being of the people and build upon the development legacies of the outgoing government if elected.

Ighodalo’s statement underscores his commitment to delivering good governance and improving the lives of Edo people.

With his promise to aggressively improve on the state’s development legacies, he has positioned himself as a strong contender in the upcoming election.

The PDP candidate who maintained that Governor Godwin Obaseki has laid solid foundation good and digitally inclined governance needed for optimal functionality in this 21st century, termed Obaseki as good ‘developmental bricklayer’

While assuring that his administration would pay keen interest on the people-centric sector like security, education, health and welfare of the people amongst others, said that Edo State has reclaimed its pride of place in Palm produce owing to the progressive administration of the outgoing governor of the state.
