Protesting Members of the Edo State Civil Society Organizations on Friday urged the anti-graft commissions in the state, to beam their searchlight on corrupt officials of government agencies.

The call, according to the protesters is part of efforts to curb the spate of increasing corrupt practices across the various ministries in Edo State

The group at the offices of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission and other related offenses, and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, said due to the corruption surge, Nigerians have been impoverished

Addressing the press in Unison during the protest Comrades Austin Enabulele, Osazee Edigin, and Omobude Agho disclosed that the efforts of the anti-graft commission against internet fraudsters should be channeled against suspected political criminals in the government

The trio warned against the diversion of palliative meant for the people by politicians which they said would create societal restiveness in the state.

Reacting to the plight of the agitators was a staff of the Independent Corrupt Practices Dennis Naemeka Okoro and other Related offenses, as well as the zonal Coordinator Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC its sister Anti-graft Commission, assured of their commitment.
