Eben Enasco Reporting.
Three traditional rulers in Ori Ire LGA, Oyo state, identified as Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula, and Alayetoro of Ayetoro were reportedly killed in a road accident on Friday.
The traditional rulers were said to have embarked on a function in the neighboring town when death cut their lives short in a ghastly accident.
The face-to-face coalition according to reports involved a Mercedes Benz car and a Scania truck.
It was learned that two of the affected traditional rulers were said to have died on the spot while the third person died at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital.
The three survivors from the accident are said to be currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Joshua Adekanye, the state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, confirmed the incident, saying the accident was a head-on collision between private and commercial vehicles along the Ogbomoso-Oyo expressway.
Adekanye said the survivors are undergoing treatment at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital while the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue.
He said nine persons suffered various degrees of burnt injuries when a truck caught fire along the Ogbomoso-Oyo expressway in another accident on Friday.
The FRSC commander said no life was, however, lost during the accident.
